"This site was put together by the volunteers of the Citizens for a Better Clearwater (CBC) grassroots political action committee. Our goal is to save our downtown and make it into a vibrant, fun and family oriented place. NEW: The CBC SEcond Project of Permanence! We are very pleased to announce our Second Project of Permanence in downtown Clearwater. A two story mural depicting an outdoor cafe and garden scene will soon appear on the wall of the former "Hot top" (Now the new Peter Gillhams, Corner of Garden and Cleveland Street. This project is a joint venture with the Main Street Committees as well as the DDB. A special thank you is due to the Jazz Holiday Foundation for funding the mural with the proceeds from the Jazz Holiday King and Queen contest. We are honored to have the Jazz Holiday join us in our efforts to improve our downtown. Please send your friends over to our website and ask them to subscribe to this "good news" e-letter. Here is a bit of history of the CBC, and our first completed project. What we decided to do is revamp the abandoned alley located next to the old Coachman building on the south side of Cleveland street. This is the state of the Alley as it was on Nov 7, 2000. Frontside, and you can see the results a bit further below.
